Born in Vienna, Austria in 1943, Leo Schimanszky has developed his artistic foundation while traveling throughout the world. In 1966, he migrated to Canada. Schimanszky immortalizes the spiritual origins of the subjects he deals with: affection, love, rest. Much of Schimanszky’s approach is primarily devoted to the representation of human subjects. While the subtle tranquil elements of the artist's sculptures are clearly evident, his paintings and works on paper display his daring exuberance. His bold colors are motifs emulate his own character.
